CURE Bears for Hope and Love

The purpose of this charity is to share the program to send bears to children in treatment for cancer within the United States and Canada and to spread awareness for childhood cancer and its prevalence.



Museum of Wayne County History

The Museum of Wayne County History is run by the Wayne County Historical Society and is a nonprofit organization. The Museum is housed in the former Wayne County Jail and sheriff's residence built in 1856 and used until 1960. Their mission is to encourage an appreciation of the history of Wayne County, to disseminate historical information about Wayne County and the surrounding area, and to preserve the heritage of the area and help individuals explore history and its meaning in relation to their lives.


Cracker Box Palace

Cracker Box Palace is a registered non-profit farm haven in Alton, NY. It is a unique place in Wayne County where farm animals of every kind come to recover from illness, neglect or abuse. Some of our residents come here due to family deaths, or because their owners can no longer give them the care they need. All animals are taught that they still have friends and all people are not bad.


Pines of Peace

The Pines of Peace is a residence for the terminally ill with priorities of pain and symptom relief, along with emotional and spiritual support for both the resident and the family. They provide a comfortable, warm, alternative living arrangement for those individuals who have been deemed beyond curative by their physicians.


Sodus Bay Lighthouse Museum

The Sodus Bay Historical Society was founded in 1972. The mission of the Society is to collect, preserve, and exhibit records, writings, historical items, and artifacts; To preserve and disseminate information in the field of history connected with the Sodus Bay area; To serve the educational and cultural needs of the Sodus Bay area; To support the preservation of historic structures, sites, and monuments; and to maintain a museum in the historic lighthouse, with an emphasis on local maritime history.


Pioneer Gas Engine Association

Our purpose is the preservation of antique gas engines, tractors, and the farm and allied equipment that was and is still deteriorating or being sacrificed to scrap yards. The association has grown from only a handful of members at the beginning, to over 200 members across New York State, as well as a handful of members from across the country.


Kiwanas Club Of Webster

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. As a group, these volunteers can achieve what they cannot do alone.


Newark-Wayne Community Hospital

Newark-Wayne Community Hospital (NWCH), an affiliate of Rochester General Health System, is a 120-bed community hospital that is located in beautiful Finger Lakes region in Wayne County, NY. It is approximately 40 miles east of the city of Rochester. Newark-Wayne offers the full range of the services needed by the people it serves through a highly, qualified team of primary care and specialist physicians and through innovative programs.


Sodus Central School

Sodus is an innovative school district that has focused its efforts in recent years on curriculum development and implementation, best practice reading instruction, improved graduation rates and sustained leadership.


Matthew J Williams Citizenship Award

On September 4, 2008 Matthew J Williams was skilled in a motorcycle accident in Tucson AZ while stationed at the Air Force base. He was a Williamson Central School Alumni, a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, and a member of The Professional Association of Diving Instructors, National Wild Turkey Federation and The National Rifle Association. Following his death his family established a scholarship to honor his memory. The Matthew J Williams Citizenship Award is presented annually to a senior who demonstrates good citizenship and plans to enter the work force, military or pursue a post-secondary education.

The Sodus Community Library serves people of all ages, and provides materials, programs, information, and services to meet community needs.

American Legion

The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation's largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.
