2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review

They have revamped the body of the vehicle with slight modifications and totally transformed the interior. The Jeep still has its rugged charm, but now it has the comfort and intelligence of a 21st century vehicle. Trims
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is like the refined sibling of the Jeep Wrangler. The midsize SUV has a body that’s much curvier than the angular Wrangler. In addition, the Grand Cherokee doesn’t skimp on durability and performance. Jeep has created six different trim levels to showcase this model. These levels include:
Laredo
Limited
Trailhawk®
Summit
Overland
75th Anniversary Edition
Drivers can also choose between four-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive for most models. All trim levels seat up to five passengers.
Engine
Manufacturers are aware that Jeep drivers expect to own a vehicle with one of the sharpest and most powerful engines around. For the Grand Cherokee, they have created a variety of turbocharged engines that use the latest in powertrain technology:
0L V6 EcoDiesel engine with eight-speed automatic transmission (240 horsepower)
7L Hemi V8 engine with eight-speed automatic transmission (360 horsepower)
6L Pentastar V6 engine with eight-speed automatic transmission (295 horsepower)
Both the 3.6L Pentastar and the 5.7L Hemi can tow up to 7,400 lb. The 3.0L is not too far behind with a towing capability of 6,200 lb.
Laredo
The Laredo trim comes standard with the 3.6L Pentastar engine. This is the base model for the Grand Cherokee brand. The Laredo comes equipped with 17-inch aluminum wheels, cloth bucket seats, and the Jeep Uconnect® system.
Limited
The Limited model trim is packed with luxurious upgrades. Drivers and passengers will enjoy the leather trimmed heated seats and Quadra-Trac II. Quadra-Trac is the traction control system that will adjust to any terrain. The four main settings are: snow, sand, mud, and rock. The wheels are a bit bigger with this model (18-inch aluminum) to accommodate the traction system. The vehicle also has a rearview camera to assist drivers.
Trailhawk®
The Trailhawk® was built to navigate the road. This trim level is the specialty off-roading vehicle in the bunch. The highlights of this model are the underbody skid plates, nine-speaker sound system, Quadra-Drive II and Quadra-Lift. The interior has an instrument cluster display built to monitor the off-roading functions of the vehicle.
Overland
This trim is the technologically advanced Grand Cherokee. The exterior boasts high beam xenon headlights and 20-inch wheels. The interior is outfitted in leather, with an HD radio and navigation system for travel and entertainment purposes.
