When properly equipped with all the necessary equipment, the Ram 1500 can tow a maximum of 10,620 pounds. Plus, you’ll also have a maximum payload capacity of 1,880 pounds, if properly equipped. 2018 Ram 1500 Performance

Three different engines are available in the Ram truck, so you can opt for the one that delivers the power you need. The standard engine is a 3.6L Pentastar® V6, which produces 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. This option is EPA-estimated to achieve 17 city/25 highway MPG.

Next in the lineup is a 3.0L Ecodiesel V6 that delivers 240 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. This engine has an EPA-estimated 21 city/29 highway MPG. The most powerful option, though, is a 5.7L HEMI® V8 with 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, which achieves 15 city/22 highway MPG.

All three options come with a Torqueflite® 8-speed automatic transmission, which features an advanced Thermal Management System. This useful system works to optimize transmission fluid temperature for improved durability and efficiency.
