2019 Ram 1500 Review
If you’re looking for a work truck in the Ontario, Wayne County, and Sodus areas, you’ll need one with capability you can count on. Even if you’re just looking for a truck to take the family on a camping trip, you need to make sure it has all the features required to keep everyone happy.
While there are plenty of trucks to choose from, the new 2019 Ram 1500 has really been making a name for itself. With its impressive capability and surprisingly advanced technology features, this truck might just be the one for you. Find out in our 2019 Ram 1500 review.
The first thing anyone wants to know about a pickup truck is capability. Fortunately, the Ram 1500 has a lot to offer in that regard, as it’s the most capable 1500 model ever created. With a payload capacity of 2,300 pounds, you don’t have to hesitate before loading up the bed with heavy cargo.
The primary appeal here is towing capacity. Ram really pushed the 1500 to the limit for this year, as it offers best-in-class V8 towing with a maximum towing capacity of 12,750 pounds when properly equipped. No other V8 light-duty truck on the market can compete with that level of performance. All this is due in large part to the 1500’s unique high-strength steel frame and eTorque system.
When you opt for the new 1500, you’ll have three engine options. The base level 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 is plenty impressive in its own right. It can tow up to 7,730 pounds with its 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Upgrade to the 5.7-liter HEMI® V8, however, and you can enjoy 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque that boosts towing capacity to 11,610 pounds.
To properly experience everything the Ram 1500 can offer, you’ll need the 5.7-liter V8 with eTorque. The eTorque system adds quite a bit of performance to your pickup, boosting your 410 lb-ft of torque by an additional 130 lb-ft. This mild hybrid system can also offer variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation, which serve to improve fuel efficiency.
Most people don’t think of pickup trucks when they think of automotive tech, but the new 2019 Ram 1500 features some of the best. Inside, you can find the largest touchscreen in its class, coming in at an impressive 12 inches. With the Uconnect® 12 system with navigation, you’ll be able to use this screen to access a wide variety of features.
As if that weren’t enough, you can also get a 7-inch digital screen right in your instrumentation panel behind the steering wheel. This digital cluster display can offer essential information, from turn-by-turn directions to vehicle diagnostics, so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road to learn important updates about your drive.
