Dodge Challenger Dashboard Symbols

The 2017 Dodge Challenger is equipped with a set of dashboard lights that appear on its instrument panel to communicate a variety of information.

Some of the 2017 Challenger’s dashboard lights are precautionary, alerting you to potentially serious mechanical malfunctions. Other indicator lights simply alert you when nonessential features are in use.

Knowing the difference between each of the 2017 Dodge Challenger’s warning and indicator lights can be difficult, so Peake Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat outlines some common 2017 Dodge Challenger dashboard lights in the following guide.

If a dashboard symbol appears on your 2017 Dodge Challenger’s indicator cluster while driving through Ontario, Wayne County, or Sodus, check out our dashboard light guide to determine what it’s trying to tell you.

Battery Charge Warning Light

The 2017 Dodge Challenger’s battery charge warning light appears when its battery isn’t charging correctly. If this light stays on while the engine is running, there could be an issue with its charging or electrical system. Contact a certified Dodge dealership as soon as possible.

Electronic Throttle Control Warning Light

The 2017 Dodge Challenger’s electronic throttle control warning light looks like a lightning bolt. This light will flash or stay on if an issue is detected with the electronic throttle control system.

If this light does appear, park the Dodge Challenger somewhere safe. Cycle the ignition key when the transmission is placed in park. If the light doesn’t turn off, the 2017 Dodge Challenger is usually still drivable. Nevertheless, you should take the Challenger to a dealership as soon as possible.

However, if the light continues to flash while the engine is running, the Dodge Challenger requires immediate service.

Oil Temperature Warning Light

The 2017 Dodge Challenger’s oil temperature dashboard light appears when the oil is too hot. If this light appears while driving, pull over somewhere safe and shut off the Challenger’s engine as soon as possible.

Engine Check/Malfunction Indicator Light

Before the engine starts, the 2017 Dodge Challenger’s engine check light will appear when the ignition is in the ON/RUN position. If the light does not come on, take the Challenger to an authorized Dodge dealership.

Other times, the light will appear when the gas cap is loose or missing, or if the fuel quality is poor. The malfunction indicator light could also flash if the vehicle is about to sustain an immediate loss in power or catalytic converter damage.

Speed Limit Warning Light

The 2017 Dodge Challenger’s speed limit warning light will appear on its dashboard when it reaches speeds of 75 mph or more. A chime will sound and a warning message will appear as well.
